Babes- You Will Be Missed.

Today is a sad day. After almost fifteen years our family dog Babes had to be put to sleep. For the past week or so she had stopped eating, and for the past two days she had also stopped drinking. When she became unable to get up the steps this morning it was clear that the time had come.

Babes was notorious for hating rides in the car. She would bark the ENTIRE time. Mom held her all the way into the vet this morning, she didn't bark once but instead looked out the window as if she knew she was taking her last ride. Mom was able to hold her for the injection, and continued to hold her all the way home. She must have known she was loved.

Babes came into our lives in May of 1994. I was finishing up my sophomore year of high school. She's been around for many, many events in our family and will be greatly missed. She had a rough start to life. Babes came into the animal shelter as a puppy and was picked out by my sister who would have been maybe 7 at the time. After bringing her home she became sick with corona virus and our $50 shelter puppy turned into $500! We, along with the vet nursed her back to health and she returned back home. She lived out the rest of her days knowing one family, one house and one cul-de-sac!

Babes- may you have all the pork chop bones and toast you could want, you were a great dog!
