Tonight we're back home after a trip to Monticello to take a ride on the Polar Express! We almost considered not going because the weather was supposed to get crummy. Luckily we came home this afternoon and it sounds like it was good we didn't stay until tomorrow weather-wise. I think we're supposed to get dumped on.
The boys had a good time despite being exhausted from no nap. Parker was getting pretty spicy towards the end though! We got back to my relative's house (who were SO kind to keep us) and Parker would NOT stay in bed. He kept launching himself out of the pack 'n play and I kept putting him back in. He got to the point where he was walking back to the bed on his own because he knew he was going right back in. We ended up having to put him in Dempsey's sleep sack so that he couldn't get his legs far enough apart to get out. Of course we could only get it hiked up to his waist! I would have taken a picture had I not been so frazzled by that point.
Basically at this point it's difficult to go anywhere overnight with the boys. They just don't sleep well away from home. I ended up having to go in there at 3am and sleep with them. Something I'd never do at home if they woke up in the night...but I knew I was fighting a losing battle..and for the love of God, I just wanted to SLEEP!
This next week will be another busy one. Monday the boys have the second to last of their mini gym class. Hopefully we'll be able to make it. It will all depend on how much snow we end up getting around here. Quinn especially has made HUGE progress in the class. In the beginning he really didn't like it and was pretty overwhelmed. Last week he was first in line for the trampoline and went across all by himself which was huge for him. I'm looking forward to Dempsey's 6 month appointment on Tuesday and will be anxious to see how much Little Miss weighs these days. Also that day I'm getting a much needed haircut and our cleaning lady starts. Hooray!!! Thursday is Quinn's appointment at Riley with the Developmental Pediatrician which I'm a bit nervous about.
Hoping to go and get our Christmas tree tomorrow! It will be interesting to see how it goes around here with the boys and their repeated (I'm sure) attempts to dismantle it once decorated. They were really good with pretty much ignoring Roger and Edy's trees at their house this weekend, which means that ours will probably get pulled down. Good times! I just have no clue what to expect because last year the tree never got decorated- just wasn't a priority with all that was going on here, and the year before the boys weren't walking yet. Wish me luck!
