I had to get this down before I forget about it. Do you know how lots of kids have 'comfort objects'? An old ratty blanket, a bear that is loved beyond recognition, you get the idea. The boys have special bear blankets they sleep with, and Parker's taken a liking to his bear we bought him at the zoo. None of these items are 'must haves' though. The boys don't feel the need to drag any of these things out of their crib with them in order to make it through the day.
I've noticed lately that Parker's new daytime 'comfort object' seems to be the letter 'T'. Yes, you heard that right...the letter 'T'. We have the Melissa and Doug fridge magnets. I've only got about sixteen of them on the fridge. The box comes with both upper and lowercase letters. Do you think I really want to be picking up 52 different magnets off of the floor all day? The answer is no. Anyway, Parker is always carrying around the letter 'T'. Yesterday I decided to conduct my own very scientific experiment. I stuck the T amongst all the other letters to see if he'd still grab that one. Sure enough, he crawls over there, pulls himself up to stand and check out all of the different letters, and picks the T! Johna says that means we need to come out to Boston because CLEARLY that means he wants to ride on the T (the name of the subway out there).
Today we had a play date scheduled which got cancelled (again). I'm starting to think this lady is a flake. We ended up going over to another friends' house so that the boys could play with their buddy G. It was a nice way to break up the day and a chance for me to have adult conversation!
Yesterday we went to the Farmer's Market with Ali and her girls. Tomorrow we're just sticking around the house. I need to work some more with Quinn on his therapy in preparation for Gail to be here on Friday.
Hope everyone is having a great week!
