I suppose I need to start with last Saturday. Parker was standing in the laundry basket that was in the foyer waiting to be taken upstairs. All of a sudden we hear a crash and crying. Never a good combination. Yes, there was blood. Yes, I freaked out a bit. Not because of the blood, but because the blood and my child were one and the same! Yes, I know. What a great nurse! Ha! Luckily, Jason was home. Basically he bit his upper lip which ended up looking like hamburger. :(
Fast forward to this Thursday morning. J and I were with the boys at Kindermusik class. Parker was laying on the floor at the beginning of class and I happened to look in his mouth. Horror of horrors. His upper front tooth is CHIPPED, and by chipped I mean that the entire inside corner of it is pretty much gone. Needless to say, I was just about beside myself. I just about cried. He has such nice cute little baby teeth. I felt so sad that he's hardly had them for any time at all and already one is chipped. It makes me sad just typing it.
I have an appointment for him on Monday to have it looked at. Luckily, Jason's cousin's wife is a hygienist at a pediatric dentist, so she came by tonight to take a look at it. She said that it looks like there is no nerve or pulp exposed. Thank goodness for that. So, it sounds like they may be able to make his tooth look a bit more even, but we'll see. I'll be sure to report back on that once I know more.
On Monday I had an irritating experience with the pediatrician's office. The Friday prior I had made appointments for the boys to get in for their flu shots. Apparently they tried calling me a whole twelve minutes before my appointment to let me know that they were out of the pediatric doses of the flu vaccine. So, they told me I could have one of the boys get half of an adult dose which would be the same thing as the pediatric dose, except it contains a preservative. I hated being put on the spot to make that decision of whether or not that was what I wanted to do. In the end I went ahead and had them vaccinate both of the boys. After I left I had second thoughts about whether or not I did the right thing. I understand that they are not going to do anything unsafe, but I would have felt better hearing that it was ok from the doctor rather than from the medical assistant. It would have been nice to have received some kind of information regarding the preservative that is in the vaccine, etc. Nothing. I had to go home and look things up in books which was a bit frustrating. I found out later that they had been out of the pediatric vaccine for a week and a half. Hmmm. Would have been nice if I'd been told that when I CALLED to make the appointment. Needless to say, I had a discussion with the pediatrician over the phone discussing my concerns with the way things were handled.
We are continuing with Quinn's 'gain weight' diet. I am beyond anxious to see what he has gained when Vickie comes back to follow up with him. His physical therapist came out today and was really pleased with his progress. I was happy he did so well for her, I know he was tired. Our nap schedule was quite messed up today. Since both of the boys still have colds they had two naps today.
Yesterday I took Quinn with me to my hair appointment. I decided it would make sense for him to get a trim before we leave for Boston next week. That kids' hair grows SO fast. I think this was his 6th or 7th hair cut!! It looks darling.
Tomorrow we are going to the little fall festival here in town provided it doesn't rain all day. I will be sure to get some new pictures to post!
Hope everyone has a good weekend!

I am so sorry to hear about the tooth and the shots! Holy Cow! I am almost beside myself because Tenille's teeth are coming in at all angles! Be brave! I am sure you can do it!
