Inaugural Igloo Trip and Picture Extravaganza!

Well, today we are back from our big weekend trip to Illinois for the Lushina family reunion. I even have a can coozie to prove that I was there, thank you very much! The boys did great there and back considering the traffic we sat in on the way there. Once again Auntie Maria came to the rescue. She rode with us (her first big trip in the family truckster) there and back and was a huge help keeping the boys entertained!

Friday night after we got into town we all of course headed to the Igloo. I guess it's for sale, so we had to be sure to bring the boys for their first ever Igloo experience! Here's the back story on the Igloo for those of you who don't know. The place has been there for an age. I think since the '40's. It used to be a drive in. They have the best burgers, shakes, pork tenderloins (aka 'porks'). Mom and dad first met there, so it has a lot of history for our family!

Mom and Parker at the Igloo!

I think that Jukebox has been there since I was ten.

Saturday was the reunion and the weather was perfect. The boys were great all day, meeting all new family members! Sunday there was a Mass at St. Mary's in Utica. I was nervous taking the boys to church but they did awesome. Quinn was excited because he had not one, not two, but THREE ceiling fans to watch on the ceiling during church! St. Mary's also has a lot of history for our family. Mom and Dad were married there and I was baptized there, so it was neat to be able to take the boys.
Grandma and Grandpa with all of the great-grandkids. Quinn and Parker are the only great-grandsons!
We're planning to go back to Illinois in October so that we can hike around Starved Rock with the boys...maybe we'll get to help Great-Grandpa with the harvest! :)
In other news, since I'm once again behind in posting... Quinn is getting fancy with lifting up his head.. he has joined Parker as 'strong man'!
Parker chooses not to participate.
And people think we're identical. Pfft.
We tried rice cereal for the first time on the 4th. They're just not quite ready yet. Dr. Hudson was telling us two months ago that we could try starting them on it. I don't think so! Most of it ends up on their chin. We'll try again soon!
