Parker's Therapy

Just thought I should post the latest regarding Parker's PT situation. I talked with First Steps yesterday and made it clear on no uncertain terms that I wasn't very pleased with the outcome of the eval that was done on Monday. The intake coordinator was very understanding and did say that they could offer a one-time session to give us some pointers on things we could do at home. I thought for sure we'd be waiting another couple of weeks for that, but luckily the same therapist that was out on Monday came out this morning to work with Parker for about an hour. He definitely got a workout. He was SO tired afterwards. The great thing is that now we have some things to do with him that I hadn't thought of.

It's nice to have 'connections'. Thanks to working in the hospital I was able to talk to a PT, Jeff, that worked on our floor a lot last night. He didn't feel that a 20% motor delay was too worrisome, but felt that it would be best to follow-up on. So.....

I also called Dr. Hudson's office and got a referral faxed over to the same Children's Therapy Center the boys go to for their NICU follow-up. I'm waiting to hear back from them today on what we can get set up. Unfortunately it probably means we have to have a whole separate eval done, but so be it.

In other news..Jason and I are planning on spending this whole weekend just cleaning the house and shopping for Thanksgiving. Yes, it is at our house this year. Should be interesting, but fun!

Need to run for now and get myself ready. Jason has his half day today and we usually spend the afternoon running errands. Might be nice if I didn't look like Shlumpadinka! ;)
