Snow, Snow...Go Away!

My Valentine's Day flowers! Thanks Daddy and Boys!

Well, we have more snow here again! They are talking about more tonight and into tomorrow as well. Yuck. I shouldn't complain though, this way we can get some use of those aforementioned snowpants and coats we got for the boys. Maybe this weekend we'll take them out in the sled around the yard.
Yesterday Parker was playing on the floor on his belly and sat up on his own for the first time!! Yea!! I was sitting there watching him, and you could tell that he was really thinking 'how am I going to do this.' I resisted the urge to help him and he sat up, looked around and smiled. I clapped for him and then he started clapping..it was so cute! Both boys are now 'crawling'. Parker gets up on his hands and knees and crawls backwards, Quinn lunges himself forwards.

They are both getting to be pretty good little eaters. Quinn still has his moments where he just gets stubborn and when he's done, forget it. There's no convincing him. I've got a lot of books by Ellyn Satter who is a R.D. GREAT books. They really help you to not get into a power struggle over eating. Basically she says there is a division of responsibility with eating. Parents are responsible for the what, where and when. Kiddos are responsible for the 'how much' or even 'whether'. She talks a lot about setting up poor eating habits due to using pressure, etc. Highly recommended reading. I've really relaxed a lot about the boys' eating since reading her books.

What else...Yesterday I had an afternoon to myself, well sort of. Jason had his half day, so as soon as he got home I took off for my Rheumatologist appointment. I also had to have X-rays and lab work done. Afterwards I went to Target to pick up a birthday gift for a party we have this weekend. The nice thing about the boys now eating breakfast, lunch and dinner is that I can nurse them prior to their nap and then technically can be gone until bedtime when they nurse again. I don't even know how to act! :)
I'm going to keep it short for today. Hope everyone has a good weekend!
