I may have blogged before about sister of the youngest degree's internship. The crummy part is that we haven't been able to see Johna since January now that she's a big city girl living in Boston and interning at Candlewick. The GREAT part is that we get to sample the Candlewick wares. This comes in handy since we have two little munchkins who love, love to be read to.
I realize you may not be in the habit of checking out who the publisher of your kid's book is (as they're gnawing on the pages). If you've read Guess How Much I Love You or any of the Maisy books, and who hasn't, you've read a Candlewick publication.
Obviously I am a big fan of this book!

I just love the illustrations and even the font they use in this book.
One of the pages shows one of the twins eating all of their food and the other one sucking its thumb and looking out the window. Hmmm...THAT sounds familiar!

We also love this series of books by Leslie Patricelli. We get such a kick out of the boys helping to turn the pages as we read to them.

What parent can't relate to this?! :)
The great thing about this book is that the boys seem entertained by it, and mommy and daddy are too!

Yummy Yucky is one of Daddy's favorites!
One of the funniest books of opposites I've seen. Another example from the book: "Burgers are yummy. Boogers are yucky." Oh my. I'm planning on expanding my blog to include featuring some of Candlewick's books from time to time. I really am a big fan of their material. Not only do I like the content, but many of the books are just beautiful to look at. You can find their entire catalog here:
Happy reading everyone!

I don't know too much about children's books yet, so any recommendations are surely welcome!
About First Steps...Mikan sees a speech therapist, occupational therapist, physical therapist, and nutritionist through them. We started off just with an OT, then we gradually kept adding more. At times it seems a little overwhelming, but they are all really flexible if we need to cancel at any time. Most of them come weekly, but the nutritionist comes monthly. Overall they have been a great help for Mikan. They teach us so many exercises to try with him too. He's still so behind (doesn't really eat on his own, can't sit up by himself, etc.), but I am confident their services will help him catch up and not learn poor habits by compensating for some of his temporary disabilities.
Any of the therapists can be seen one a one-time consultant visit. In fact, that is how we ended up with so many; we started by just scheduling one visit, then they offered to come more often based on Mikan's need.
Do the boys use First Steps now? Or were you considering using it in the future?
