So Glad It's Friday!

Just a quick update on the week...

Wednesday I decided I'd take the boys to the mall. I packed them a lunch and off we went. Yes, I am the dorky mom who brings her kids' lunch with us. (Of course I had Chik-fil-A for myself!) I've learned from all of my outings with Alison and her girls that the best place to park is at Sears. You can park right by the door and it's never busy- it's easy to just wheel the boys right in to the mall. So I staked out a table, found two ancient and gross high chairs, left the boys' placemats on the table to 'mark our spot' and waited in line to order my food. The whole time I'm waiting I keep glancing over at the table to make sure that some cleaning person wasn't messing up my plan by picking up my placemats and dragging them off to some lost and found office in the bowels of the mall. After getting my food I got the boys all set up at the table (after cleaning off the gross high chairs) and got their chicken salad sandwich and carrots cut up for them. As usual Parker ate great and Quinn ate some and threw a lot over the side of his chair. Does he think I won't notice? :) I think we spent the majority of our mall trip in the food court- by the time the boys ate, got cleaned up, etc. My sister found out I was taking them to the mall and feeding them lunch there. Her exact words were: 'good luck brave soldier!' Haha! I'm lucky the boys are easygoing.

Yesterday I was feeding the boys lunch here at home. Afterwards I picked Quinn up out of his chair and all up the front of his shirt was POOP. Gah. It goes without saying that he smelled AWFUL. I didn't even want to sit him down anywhere because I knew he'd roll around with his poopy shirt all over the floor. Forget it. I took him upstairs, sat him in the dry tub still in his poopy clothes. I ran back downstairs, grabbed Parker and put him in the exersaucer that's permanently stationed right outside the bathroom. I got Quinn back OUT of the tub, got him out of his disgusting clothes and then back INTO the tub. What a mess!

Today I took the boys for a stroller ride. I was in the bathroom prior to going out with the door open. Parker comes crawling in and chewing on something as I'm washing my hands. I picked him up and fish around in his mouth to see what he found. He managed to somehow get the rubber piece off of the door stopper by the back door. Talk about scary. It must have been loose because I checked the stopper by the front door and there's no way he could get that one off. It just goes to show now matter how well you think you've looked around for things they could get into, they find something anyway. Never a dull moment!

Right now Jason is working on putting up baby gates. We found some gadget that you can put around the banister so that you don't have to drill into the wood. This gadget involves velcro, which I hear him messing with as I type. I hope he knows if he wakes the boys up with this 10pm project he will be putting them back to bed!

Will wrap it up for now. Hope everyone has a great weekend. I'm kind of bummed it's supposed to rain and be cold all weekend.

ah h h h poop! Not sure why it is funny when others have the mess and so horrible when it is you. And it makes you have to wonder, "how does the poop get up the front?"
