Ventured out for the first time on my own to Target with the boys. It went surprisingly well! I really shouldn't say I'm surprised though...they are really very mild-mannered all things considered.
This was our first time going anywhere by ourselves where we didn't have help at our destination! I will say though that people were very friendly..opening doors, etc. Of course I had to drink an entire bottle of water prior to getting there, so before we could leave for home we had to maneuver the double stroller into the bathroom. If that wasn't a fit. Handicapped stall here we come!
I'm sure in general we looked like a sight... I brought in one of my reusable grocery bags to hang from the stroller handle to collect all of my 'stuff' while shopping. Well, after shoving a package of diapers and a few other things in the bag I then moved onto hanging things off of the stroller handles! We looked like some sort of gaudy early 4th of July parade float. It's amazing how much more attention we attract when out with the double stroller as opposed to the two single strollers.
In other news... Dad met with an orthopedist today to have his arm checked. They ended up putting a new cast on and he's to go back in a week to follow-up and make sure everything is healing/setting as it should be. The great news is that he won't need surgery. He was not looking forward to the prospect of another surgery so soon after his lung surgery.
Sorry I have no pictures to post from our first outing..now I'm wishing I would have brought the camera along but I felt I was doing well just to get the boys and all of their gear in and out of the store without meltdowns. I will have to bring the camera along for the second 'all by ourselves' trip. Speaking of which... I love my Nikon camera but I think I'm going to get a second smaller camera that I can just throw in the diaper bag. My parents have a Coolpix which seems to take great pictures, so we'll see.
Think that's it for now..I'm feeling the need for some ice cream before the boys wake up. I finally broke down and turned the a/c on this afternoon. Poor Quinn was getting overheated even though he's only in a diaper (white trash baby!) after having a major blow out once we got home. At least he waited to leave Target!
