Back From Chicago

We officially returned from our Chicago trip Saturday afternoon...and not a moment too soon I might add. We had a great time, but three nights in a hotel with two almost 8 month old kiddos was enough for me, even with a suite. Thank goodness for doors! At least we had a sitting area separate from where we had the boys' 'cribs' set up. Now that they are eating solids I resorted to feeding them sitting up in their stroller while we were gone. It was interesting. Friday night I was threatening to pack everything up and head for the hills. I'd just about had it!

To make matters even more interesting I ended up with not only a plugged duct (sorry if that's too much information for you), but also a cold. Boo. When we got into town on Wednesday we went to the Lincoln Park Zoo. I think the boys got the biggest kick out of the monkeys/apes.

Thursday we went to Shedd Aquarium and Friday the boys had their first ride ever on the El (yes, we are crazy). We stayed right next to the Hancock building, so we rode down to the Randolph St. area. We had lunch at the Walnut Room, walked around Macy's (boo...so much worse than Marshall Field's) and Old Navy and then headed back to the hotel. I made the mistake of taking the boys out during nap time. Saturday was the last morning of Jason's conference, so while he was gone I took the boys out for a walk to Crate and Barrel and the Gap. Let's just say on the return trip to the hotel we did not walk down Michigan Ave. It was NUTS. You would not believe the amount of people who stop you when you have twins to chitchat!

In other news, poor dad just can't get a break. The past few days he's had a fever and has just felt crummy. God forbid he could finish his chemo and just be done with the headaches for a bit. It's just been one thing after another since May. And I thought bed rest in the hospital for three weeks was tough.

Going to keep it somewhat short tonight.. since the boys and I ran around with Auntie Maria today I need to get some laundry folded and eat dinner. Enjoy our pictures from Chicago!

This is actually Pre-Chicago... eating is such hard work!

Quinn, my would-be escape artist.

Are you kidding me?

Daddy and the boys at Lincoln Park Zoo

It was a bit hazy...

Our Shedd Aquarium adventure. The navigation in the car was a joke. It told us the Aquarium was 'in an area not accessible by car'. Great. Thanks.

The view from our hotel room at the Hilton.

Mommy and Parker..it took us many tries to get the lake in the background of the picture. This is what we do while daddy is at his conference!

Jason the night we got home. My thoughts exactly!
