Oh, I hate when I've waited over a week to blog anything. I end up forgetting things I would have otherwise mentioned had I been more timely! :(
I'm going to try and keep this short. I'm tired and not in the mood to be long winded, but I know if I don't catch everyone up on what's going on I'll get completely overwhelmed with all of the things I forgot to 'talk' about. Kind of like the gazillion pictures I still need to upload to Shutterfly. I was trying to be so good about staying on top of it as far as keeping the boys' pictures in chronological order in their picture albums. Now that I have so many to upload and order it just seems like a daunting task. One of these evenings after the boys go to bed I need to devote some time and just get it done!
Ok..so what's new around here... The boys are finally eating their rice cereal on a regular basis. For a while there it seemed like it was one step forward and two back. I finally just decided to mix it with fruit/vegetables. So far they are fans of pears and sweet potatoes! Quinn can't seem to eat fast enough and Parker takes bites in between sucking his thumb. :) Also, we are into not size 1, not size 2, but size 1-2 diapers! I don't even think they make that size anymore..I've had diapers stockpiled for so long.
The other night Alison came over so that we could watch Sarah Palin's interview (groan). I felt like being productive so I started putting together the boys' Baby Einstein bouncer. I had already assembled (mostly) their exersaucer earlier in the day. I don't do screws and screwdrivers, so the little pieces that had to be attached were Jason's job. Anyway...they love them! They're still a bit too short for them (see pictures of legs dangling in the air) but they get a kick out of it nonetheless. Like I keep saying, I think that they want to do things cognitively that their little bodies just aren't quite ready for yet physically! They get ahead of themselves!
This past weekend we went to North Judson for a baby shower for Jason's cousin. Luckily that was pretty much the only part of the weekend it wasn't raining. I could not BELIEVE all of the rain around here! Sunday we just stuck around the house until the evening when we ventured out for some groceries and some random little kid tried to scale the side of the cart and grab Parker. Yikes. This is why come cold and flu season the boys' trips to the grocery store will cease to exist.
Today we went up to see dad while he was getting his chemo. His last long day! Yea! We don't have much planned for tomorrow. I think our big outing will be a stroller ride to the post office. Thursday we have shots so I'm curious to see how much the boys weigh...stay tuned! Next week we're going to Chicago for a few days with the boys. I'll be sure to take LOTS of pictures.
Can't quite reach!
Our first time in the Exersaucer! Quinn LOVES that sun...
Parker is ecstatic!
Mohawk baby!
Look Mommy...we have no armrests!
Our chilly walk on Monday. The blanket and clips look like some kind of crazy stroller surgery drape!
