I hope everyone had a nice New Year's. We spent New Year's Eve here at home with a Scrabble board (I did HORRIBLY- I blame my cold), fondue, Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin. That's party enough for me at this exact point in my life! Yes, we did watch CNN on New Year's Eve. It was surprisingly entertaining. I refused to watch Carson Daley (sp?) and T.I. performing. Great plan NBC..why don't you have the guy who's due to be hauled off to jail soon perform on New Year's Eve? Speaking of NBC...I'm going to be annoyed if they cancel Lipstick Jungle and I guess after a year they've decided to start showing Friday Night Lights again...but I digress.
Today Jason and I (but mostly Jason) got all of the Christmas stuff put away and the tree hauled out to the curb. Good riddance to that thing..it was dropping more needles than a heroin addict running from the cops. Bah. Most years I'm all gung ho about Christmas decorating, making cookies, the whole ball of wax. This year I really was just not motivated at all. I kept thinking as Christmas got closer I would start getting excited but it just didn't happen..which I felt bad about since it was the boys' first Christmas. Don't get me wrong..I was excited about that aspect, but every other part of it, not so much. I think it had to do with the fact that we had Thanksgiving here. I did so much cleaning/preparing for that, I think I was holidayed out before it had hardly begun!
Switching gears. I don't know if I mentioned this here before. My youngest sister got an internship at MIT which she is beyond excited about. Can't say I blame her! I asked if it'd be possible for her to smuggle me to Boston in her suitcase. :) Speaking of travelling. Jason and I are starting to plan our first big trip with the boys in tow. There's a CME in Key West in April which we're looking into. We haven't been back since our honeymoon..LOVE that place. I couldn't care less about Duval Street though. We're going to try and steal Auntie Maria to come along with us. How could she pass it up... a plane ticket and a place to stay!
The boys are doing great. Today I had one of those moments when they got up from their nap that moms always talk about, but I never believed. I swear Quinn looked different after his nap than he did when I put him down! His face just looked different somehow...chunkier I guess. Which, I don't know how that could POSSIBLY be the case. I swear I don't know what that kid lives on. He definitely got his eating temperament from my side of the family. Parker polishes off his food no problem, Quinn spends the whole meal looking at this, fooling with that. Makes me NUTS. By bedtime tonight I had exhausted my patience quota. I think part of it is that he's already getting to where he wants to do things HIMSELF. I try to give him some foods to feed himself..but it's a bit difficult with cereal.
I should probably wrap this up. Quinn's still fussing in his crib...I wouldn't be surprised if he's got a fifth tooth coming in. Those little teeth are so cute!

That's so funny about Quinn. Our chunkier twin, Creighton, fidgets and fusses and spits out more than he gets down into his belly and is so picky. Daniel, meanwhile, strikes at the spoon like a damn snake and can't be fed fast enough and is such a little skinny thing! How are they doing? They look great! Any fantastic milestones as of late?
