Of course, as usual I should be getting things accomplished around the house instead of posting to the blog. I'll be sorry when the boys wake up and I've gotten nothing much done.

Today we are trying out a new schedule. The routine has always been that they both go back down for a bit after their first feeding of the day. Lately they've been not going back to sleep and just messing around in their cribs. I figured I'd try keeping them up, feeding them breakfast earlier, putting them down for nap earlier, and by doing those things maybe sneak in an extra snack. We'll see how it goes. Of course I will have started this whole new routine only to have it changed back to the old one on Saturday for their birthday party. When I planned the time for it I didn't take into account changing their schedule around. Oh well, there's never a good time to do it.

I ordered the chicken for the party today, along with a veggie platter, potato and pasta salad and balloons for the boys' high chairs. I also e-mailed Patti to see if she can make a few extra cupcakes. I think I got kind of crazy with the invites (not that I'm sorry about who I invited, obviously), but I kind of forgot about the fact that no one can just go outside and hang out on the porch. We'll just have a full house, that's all! Maria and I picked up the pulled pork from GFS this past weekend since it's frozen. Which reminds me.. Dad thinks that GFS means 'Great Little Food Store'..wouldn't there be an 'L' in there somewhere? Oh boy. He's already informed me I need to make sure I buy 'good buns' for the pulled pork. He's something else!

I need to get the covers off of the boys swings and into the wash so that we can get them packed away. I think the basement is going to become the storage place of choice for all things baby. I'm considering putting one of them on Craigslist. You'll notice I said ONE. I'm not getting rid of them both just in case. ;) I'm starting to understand why mom has a hard time getting rid of things. I've done ok about it, but it makes me sad to get rid of all of the boys old clothes. I've kept a few things from each size. I've also kept sleepers and onesies..again..JUST in case!

We also need to get the family room re-rearranged. We moved the furniture around a few months ago. I don't like it anymore this way, so back to the old way it needs to go. I think once we do that and get these swings down to the basement it will seem like our family room space doubles!

Wish me luck getting everything ready for the party!

Quinn and Parker 1.26.09 Can't believe their birthday is TWO DAYS from today!

Random side note. I was looking at these pictures on the camera after I took them and ended up at the beginning of the pictures on the camera card. It was the strangest thing. One picture the boys are the size they are in the pictures above, and then in the next picture they are absolutely tiny. I guess I just haven't held an old picture up to a new one to compare, and it completely floored me. I need to do that more often when I get all worked-up and worried about whether or not they're growing fast enough! Am missing them being little... for anyone who reads this with babies...cherish each day because it goes by too fast!

My mom saved all... and I mean all... of our clothes from when we were kids. Those that weren't ruined in the fire, she had made into woven rag rugs... it's pretty fun to go through them and pick out the pieces that we remember. I even found in there those crazy sweatshirts we made in home ec! Maybe you can save the best pieces for rugs or quilts or something and it won't feel like you threw them away. :)
